Success in healthcare M&A: Taking a people-first approach

Global mergers and acquisitions hit an all-time high in 2021, and in the life sciences industry these kinds of deals show no sign of slowing down. 

Many companies are turning to M&A to optimise their portfolios and gain access to new technologies, fuelled by an abundance of capital in the sector. These deals can have transformative effects on the companies involved; ideally promoting synergy, diversifying product offerings and improving economies of scale.  

However, striking a successful deal takes a lot more than agreeing a price and signing on the dotted line. A company must consider the impact of M&A on its people – how to integrate teams, retain talent and communicate effectively.
